We are a student-driven startup founded by three innovative third-year students from the IPO program at Howest Kortrijk: Tristan Jeannot, Emiel Houben, and Laurens Arnaut. What brought us together was a shared passion for design and problem-solving and a clear frustration with the limitations of current portable sports field solutions. We saw an opportunity to do better.
Together, we set out to create a system that’s versatile, durable, and easy to use, making sports and recreation possible anywhere, anytime.
The inspiration for FlexField arose from a simple, yet powerful realization:current portable sports field solutions just weren’t cutting it. As students, we saw how existing products lacked the versatility to adapt to various sports, surfaces, and environments. Many were either too bulky, difficult to set up, or limited to specific types of use. This sparked a desire in us to create something better. We wanted to develop a solution that would make sports and training accessible to everyone, regardless of location or surface type. Our goal was clear: to design a product that solved these challenges by being both adaptable and durable, all while staying easy to use and affordable.
FlexField is the result of this vision: a product born from our drive to break down barriers and make sports more accessible for all.
